Scope of this WP is the scientific, financial and administrative coordination of the project. The interactions between the WPs will be also co-ordinated and promoted. The continuous evaluation of the project progresses and the potential risks is a key task of this WP as well as the provision of contractual reports and cost statements. The coordinator is responsible for the scientific, financial and administrative coordination of the project and acts as intermediate between the project and the commission. The administrative and scientific project management will deal with the contractual management with the European Commission Services as well as project-internally with the preparation of the Consortium Agreement and all processes relevant to assist implementation, execution and potential amendment. An integral part of this WP will also be the monitoring and reporting procedures, particularly the contractual reports and cost statements. The resources allocation will be coordinated, monitored and controlled as well as reported. Although internet and telephone-based communication will the major lines of information exchange and communication, project meetings will play a major role in the coordination of the project activities and the presentation of intermediate project results. Project meetings will be organised in the frame of this WP. Web based tools to supply basic information and to facilitate communications within the consortium will be provided (incl. web sites, ftp domains, knowledge management systems etc.). The coordinator is in charge of the day-to-day management of the entire project, including: Administration and co-ordination of project, Communication within the consortium, Interface with the EC, Monitoring and control of the work, Planning and managing of consortium meetings with progress reports of the partners, planning of the next steps and the minutes of the meeting, Managing the in-time provision of the deliverables, reports and cost statements, Planning and managing project reviews. The coordinator is also responsible for the scientific development of the project. This includes the dependencies between various tasks, co-ordination of scientific progress, review and approval of scientific reports and deliverables, and resolution of problems of a scientific rather than an administrative nature.The cooperation with the EC project Neptune (www.eu-neptune.org) will be part of the whole management activities.
